From Kununurra we headed off on the roughly 1,000km drive to Derby along Highway 1 (not the Gibb River Road). There wasn't much to stop to see along the way, as Geike Gorge was closed, and we decided not to visit Mimbi Caves due to cost and timing.
We made a quick stop at Bow River, made famous by Cold Chisel.

After driving through Halls Creek, we decided to stop for the night to free camp at the Ngumban Cliff Lookout. This was the first free camp we had done since Edith Falls and we were very impressed with the location. Lots of other travellers, good facilities (including an EV charging point) and a wonderful view from the cliffs. We got to have some nice chats to fellow travellers before a steak dinner and a beautiful sunset.

Then I got to watch the Brisbane Lions play (and beat) the Western Bulldogs thanks to Kayo and Starlink. Good stuff!
