A short drive into Mount Isa from Mary Kathleen. The first thing we noticed coming over the hill was the huge stack with smoke drifting away from it. Definitely a mining, not a tourist, town. Arrived early enough to take advantage of the only Coffee Club since Toowoomba (breakfast was very good) before having a look around. Checked into the Mount Isa Caravan Park which is managed by a lovely, friendly couple. Gave the motorhome front a quick wash, then a quick dip in the pool.
